Landlocked (2021) – REVIEW

October 10, 2026

I knew absolutely zero about Landlocked before last week. Someone in r/horror on Reddit recommended it as a unique horror (maybe they didn’t recommend it so much as say they watched it) so I checked out the trailer. The premise seemed very unique indeed and it seemed like it would be a good creeper that … More Landlocked (2021) – REVIEW

Return to Silent Hill (2026) – REVIEW

October 8, 2026

Christophe Gans is no doubt a fan of the Silent Hill video games. He reportedly fought to secure the director position for the 2006 Silent Hill with Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean because he cared about the adaptation so much. Well, as we know, that movie didn’t do so great at the box office or … More Return to Silent Hill (2026) – REVIEW

Scanner Cop (1994) – REVIEW

October 5, 2026

I largely ignored the Scanners-verse after Conenberg’s original. That one was pretty good. Not one of my favorites from the master of body horror, but definitely worth rewatching every few years or so. When I saw “David Cronenberg’s Scanner Cop” on the cover art (or poster or whatever), I wondered if the man really had … More Scanner Cop (1994) – REVIEW

Deadly Friend (1986) – REVIEW

October 4, 2026

Wes Craven’s Deadly Friend has become something of a go-to meme for over-the-top, goofy violence with the titular “deadly friend” popping an old woman’s head with a basketball. (Mama Fratelli even!) For years I’ve chuckled at that goofiness, but I’d never actually seen the movie. I knew it was Craven. I knew it was sci-fi … More Deadly Friend (1986) – REVIEW

The A-Frame (2024) – REVIEW

October 2, 2026

I knew nothing about The A-Frame before finding it in a “far-out sci-fi” category on Tubi. I watched the trailer and it was okay, so I decided to roll the dice. Sci-fi horror is a favorite sub-genre of mine, so I’m always on the lookout. I’m usually disappointed, but sometimes I find a gem. Does … More The A-Frame (2024) – REVIEW

Cube (2021) – REVIEW

October 1, 2026

I’m going to try to do another 31 full reviews (as well as my micro-reviews) this October. It was a fun challenge last year, so why not do it again? I’m watching at least 31 new-to-me horror movies and I’ll share what I thought about them here. I’m going to start with the Japanese remake … More Cube (2021) – REVIEW

Keeper (2025) – REVIEW

November 14, 2025

I went in blind to Ozgood Perkins’ (Perkins’s?) Keeper for two reasons. 1. I knew it was from him so I knew I was going to see it and didn’t need any convincing from the marketing campaign. I’ve enjoyed all of his features up to this point. 2. I wanted absolutely zero spoilers. I know … More Keeper (2025) – REVIEW

Terrifier 3 (2024) – REVIEW

November 8, 2025

The Terrifier films are divisive among horror fans (and the horror tourists who like them are insufferable). I happen to appreciate the gore effects and the creative kills. But I have a couple of issues with the first two. Namely that they were both poorly acted and the second was overlong (unnecessarily so since we’re … More Terrifier 3 (2024) – REVIEW

31+ Micro-reviews for October 2025

October 31, 2025

I did it, folks! Over 31 new-to-me horror films watched since Oct. 1st. This and 31 full reviews are just a couple of the perks of being unemployed! R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead (2025) – REVIEW

October 31, 2025

I’m old. By the time Stine’s Fear Street series came out, I was deep into Stephen King. I was reading big boy horror with big boy scares (and even some sex scenes!). I didn’t have time for teen spookiness! My first real exposure to Stine was through my then girlfriend’s younger brother. He loved the … More R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead (2025) – REVIEW

No Real Danger is a blog of my ramblings on the films that I watch/have watched/want to watch/etc. I will typically post (with irregular regularity) comma and parenthetical filled short-form entries. I plan to keep things positive, but I might grumble about something every once in a while. Horror is my “jam” but I may occasionally post about a non-horror movie. Similarly, I usually watch independent movies but not exclusively. Hell, I might even post about music. Who knows?
