Keeper (2025) – REVIEW

November 14, 2025

I went in blind to Ozgood Perkins’ (Perkins’s?) Keeper for two reasons. 1. I knew it was from him so I knew I was going to see it and didn’t need any convincing from the marketing campaign. I’ve enjoyed all of his features up to this point. 2. I wanted absolutely zero spoilers. I know … More Keeper (2025) – REVIEW

Terrifier 3 (2024) – REVIEW

November 8, 2025

The Terrifier films are divisive among horror fans (and the horror tourists who like them are insufferable). I happen to appreciate the gore effects and the creative kills. But I have a couple of issues with the first two. Namely that they were both poorly acted and the second was overlong (unnecessarily so since we’re … More Terrifier 3 (2024) – REVIEW

31+ Micro-reviews for October 2025

October 31, 2025

I did it, folks! Over 31 new-to-me horror films watched since Oct. 1st. This and 31 full reviews are just a couple of the perks of being unemployed! (laughter devolves into sobs) 44 Hell Hole (2024) – An American fracking operation in Serbia digs up a live man infected with an aggressive cephalopod-like parasite. R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead (2025) – REVIEW

October 31, 2025

I’m old. By the time Stine’s Fear Street series came out, I was deep into Stephen King. I was reading big boy horror with big boy scares (and even some sex scenes!). I didn’t have time for teen spookiness! My first real exposure to Stine was through my then girlfriend’s younger brother. He loved the … More R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead (2025) – REVIEW

Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015) – REVIEW

October 30, 2025

I avoided this one for a very long time after seeing the trailer for it. I thought it looked too DIY to be an effective creepy stalker story. If you’re not a fan of found footage, then this one isn’t going to be for you. I wouldn’t say that I’m not a fan, but the … More Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015) – REVIEW

Haunt (2019) – REVIEW

October 29, 2025

Since I liked co-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’s Heretic, I decided to check out their earlier effort, Haunt. I’d read mixed things about it and knew it was about a haunted house, but that’s about it. Since I am watching as much horror as possible this month, I figured it’s a good time to … More Haunt (2019) – REVIEW

Watcher (2022) – REVIEW

October 29, 2025

Here’s another one that I knew nothing about before searching for my 28th film of 31 for this month. The description sounded promising and it stars established – and well-regarded – genre actor, Maika Monroe. That was enough to sell me on it, but then I learned that Chloe Okuna directed and co-wrote the film. … More Watcher (2022) – REVIEW

Red Rooms (2023) – REVIEW

October 28, 2025

I first heard about Red Rooms on the r/Horror subreddit. Some folks there were praising the movie for how intense it is. And some folks in the comments didn’t like it. That’s typical for any Reddit thread of course. But the film kept coming up in the comments of “best of the year” and “most … More Red Rooms (2023) – REVIEW

Humane (2024) – REVIEW

October 27, 2025

Enrico Colantoni is an underrated treasure of an actor. He has great range, a unique look (for an actor), and a solid track record of shining in whatever part he plays – large or small. So, when I saw that he was in Caitlin Cronenberg’s Humane, that was enough to convince me it was worth … More Humane (2024) – REVIEW

Azrael (2024) – REVIEW

October 26, 2025

Samara Weaving is sort of a nepo baby. Her uncle Hugo was in a couple of huge franchises and I’m sure that helped her get her foot in Hollywood’s door. It helps that she is gorgeous in a conventionally attractive way. It also helps that she’s a pretty damn good actor. And she seems to … More Azrael (2024) – REVIEW

No Real Danger is a blog of my ramblings on the films that I watch/have watched/want to watch/etc. I will typically post (with irregular regularity) comma and parenthetical filled short-form entries. I plan to keep things positive, but I might grumble about something every once in a while. Horror is my “jam” but I may occasionally post about a non-horror movie. Similarly, I usually watch independent movies but not exclusively. Hell, I might even post about music. Who knows?
